Former Tech All-American has risen to No. 119 in world doubles ranking
The 23-year-old Peachtree City, Ga., native, who qualified for the main doubles draw at Wimbledon for the first time earlier this summer, is playing in his first U.S. Open. The left-hander is ranked No. 119 currently in the world as a doubles player.
King is playing with American Marcos Giron, 21, of Thousand Oaks, Calif., ranked No. 881 in the world. They await their opening-round match against Dusan Lajovic of Serbia and Joao Sousa of Portugal.
King, a two-time All-American with 90 doubles wins at Tech, has won three doubles titles in ITF Futures and ATP Challengers events this year while playing with former Tech teammates Juan Spir and Dean O'Brien.
