@GT_MTEN Signee Wins CRC Open Singles

THE FLATS – Andrew Li, a Georgia Tech men’s tennis signee from Hong Kong, recently won the single title at the CRC Open in Hong Kong, knocking off two former United States collegiate All-Americans in the process.

Li defeated former Duke star Phillip King, No. 286 in the ATP singles rankings 7-5, 2-6, 6-4 in the quarter finals. King was once ranked as high as No. 12 in the collegiate rankings. In the finals, he defeated David Sofaer, ranked No. 909 in the world, 6-3, 7-6. Sofaer played for Pepperdine’s 2012 NCAA semi-final team.

Li has represented China in the 2014 Asian Games and holds an international junior ranking of No. 221.
