THE FLATS – Georgia Tech softball returns to the Flats from a successful road trip on Wednesday, March 14 for a midweek matchup with No. 12 Alabama. First pitch is slated for 6 p.m. on ACC Network Extra.
Week five recap:
The Jackets opened Atlantic Coast Conference action last weekend in Charlottesville, playing a three-game series against Virginia. Tech won all three games to open conference play with a series sweep for the first time since 2011. The Jackets put up a total of 19 runs during the fifth innings through the series. Tech also took its fourth run-rule victory of the season with an 18-9 (5) decision over the Cavaliers on Saturday, to match its total from all of last season.
The Yellow Jackets meet the Crimson Tide for the 18th time in program history on Wednesday. Alabama leads the all-time series 14-3, taking the last meeting in six innings 11-0 in Tuscaloosa, Ala. in 2015. It is only the fourth meeting on The Flats.
Wednesday night’s game is part of the WINSday promotions with games and prizes between every inning.
